Cisco ISR 4000 Part Numbers Explained

Cisco ISR 4000 Part Numbers Explained

We were just running through some of our Cisco ISR 4000 inventory and someone asked about the Cisco Part Number variations for items such as:

ISR4321/K9
ISR4321-AX/K9
ISR4321-AXV/K9
ISR4321-SEC/K9
ISR4331-V/K9
ISR4331-VSEC/K9

(Links take you to our main site with more specs on the hardware.)

Here’s how it breaks down:

  • AX = (Application Experience Bundle) licenses for IP Base, Security (SEC), Application Experience (AppX), and Right to Use (RTU) for Wide Area Application Services (WAAS)
  • AXV = (Application Experience with Voice Bundle) licenses for IP Base, Security (SEC), Application Experience (AppX), and Right to Use (RTU) for Wide Area Application Services (WAAS), Unified Communications (UC) and Cisco Unified Border Element.
  • SEC = (Security Bundle) Router VPN and Firewall Bundle
  • V = (Unified Communications Bundle) Voice Bundle with IOS SP Services
  • VSEC = (Voice Security Bundle) Voice Sec. Bundle, UC and SEC License PAK
