IBM Midrange tape comparison chart for the TS3100, TS3200, TS3310 and TS3500.

It’s no secret that we are fans of tape backup, and the bulk of price requests, phone calls and actual units out our door are IBM’s Midrange tape series.

This consists of the TS3100, TS3200, TS3310 and the Enterprise straddling TS3500.
(The TS3500 nudges us out of the Petabyte domain and up into the Exabytes stratoshpere.)

Check our LTO Comparison Chart, LTO-5 drive comparo, the popular IBM 3580S5E LTO-5 Tape Drive, IBM 3592 Tape Comparison (with media options).
Which one do I need?

A phone call (855-932-6627) to our tape experts for a free consultation is the best way to get a handle on that.

But, generally speaking, the TS3100 and TS3200 are excellent for small to medium sized business. They can both be used as your primary backup solution or for data archiving and moving off-site.

The TS3310 would be your choice if your backup and archiving needs are growing. Its modular system means you can start with the primary library and add expansion modules as you need them.

The TS3500 just barely has one toe in the Midrange category and scales out to the Enterprise level all the way to its current maximum capacity of 2.7 Exabytes (2.7 million TB). That’s big.

How do I start?

Most feature codes in the chart are a link to our main site for price requests on individual items (or just email us).
Maximum Midrange also carries all the required cables, media, switches and other hardware needed for a full install.
